WL PLASTICS COMPLETES WATER SERVICE LINES AT NEW BMW PLANT IN SAN LUIS POTOSI

San Luis Potosi (or SLP) is located in North-Central Mexico. BMW Group is constructing a new plant for production of the BMW 3 Series Sedan to begin production in 2019. Through distributor GLC Mexicana S.A. de C.V. and contractor Cymesa, the project includes three different tank water distribution systems for: firefighting, potable water and gray water.

The firefighting system includes two tanks each with a 700,000 gallon capacity distributing raw water. This application involved the installation of 16,380 meters of 4”, 6” and 12” High Density Polyethylene FM listed PC200 red-stripe pipe(200psi), with a special printline showing BMW SLP Plant. The potable water system includes a 350,000 gallon capacity tank distributing drinking water. This application involved the installation of 8,628 meters of 1”, 2”, 6”, 8” and 10” High Density Polyethylene DR9, NSF61 blue-striped pipe (200psi), with a special printline showing BMW SLP Plant. The gray water system includes a 350,000 gallon capacity tank distributing gray water. This application involved the installation of 8,628 meters of 8” and 10” High Density Polyethylene DR9, NSF61 blue-striped pipe (200psi), with a special printline showing BMW SLP Plant.

Easy and fast to install, leak-free monolithic system due to thermal fusion technology, UV resistant and due to its flexibility, adapts to the ground unevenness using less fittings. Good customer service: On time delivery and technical advice.

WL Plastics HDPE water piping is manufactured to strict AWWA, ASTM, and NSF industry standards to provide decades of safe, trouble-free operation. Used in potable water applications since the 1970s, HDPE pipe is the fastest growing material used for transporting drinking water due to its tough, resilient properties. This technology is lightweight, leak-proof and chemical resistant. The superior flow characteristics of HDPE pipe maintains optimum flow rates which reduces your pumping costs. HDPE has exceptional surge tolerance, which means safe operation at higher flows and velocities, no thrust blocks and no loss of treated water. Heat fused joints reduce installation time and ensure a leak proof system, which results in cost savings.
